It's enough of a battle, so you take the wins where you can.
1.8 kg lost last week, it's encouraging. Made up of over a kilo of fluid loss, and 500g of fat and a touch of muscle loss. Take the win.
Tuesday morning was the Glucose Tolerance Test that I was worried about. It's made up of fasting, drinking glucose and then seeing how your body reacts, and how well your insulin does it's job. The test itself was ok, if not long and boring while you wait. The issue now is that I'm pre diabetic. This basically means I need to give the body every chance not to become diabetic, depending on me to supply the insulin via a jab. ( That would suck...big time) So the pressure really is on to drop the weight, cut the sugar and behave.* Got some great advice from the food fuehrer, so it's up to me make it happen. Pressure.
So now that I am conscious of the sugar intake, the rule being less than 10g per 100g of product. You can imagine my surprise as I went through the pantry and checked the sugar content of EVERYTHING ! To give you an idea, sugar has 99.4g of sugar per 100g. My 'nice and natural' (shit they'll be good for me) muesli bars, have 22.8g of sugar per 100g. So the look out is on for alternatives to my norm. If you have any ideas let me know.
On school holidays next week, a week away from the gym and the comforts of diet life. I can see it now...baking, nibbles, booze. Need to be a good boy, self control will be the toughest, that and finding sugar free beer.
Super class this morning with Brian, if not a little light on the turnout, Monday is the toughest to get out of bed for...but always feel so much better following.
Have a super week.
*My knowledge of GTT and diabetes is very limited...talk to the food fuehrer for deets.
