Marie's Ode to Brian

Well... it is time.... this is the blog that you have been waiting for (probably not as long as Brian has been waiting)... but here it is... my Ode to Brian.

As most of us will know Brian is one of the Personal Trainers at M1NT Health and Fitness. And I would argue that he is the one with the biggest personality.

When I first joined M1NT back in August 2009, I first met with Mike and he took me through the join-up details etc. Mike then introduced me to Brian and from that date Brian has been my Personal Trainer.

It didn’t take long for me to learn of Brian’s sense of humour – sometimes sick, sometimes just plain WRONG, but always worth a laugh.

Brian tends to often be the butt of many of my jokes at M1NT – something I’m not going to apologise for because he gives it back just as well as he takes it.

In all seriousness though, I do owe a lot to Brian. When I first started we all know that I was a seriously overweight, unhealthy individual. I required a lot of motivation and positive reinforcement to keep me on track and regularly exercising. Brian was really great to me and gave me all the encouragement that I needed (albeit usually wrapped up in some type of Brian humour).

Brian is not a shy individual what-so-ever and as such has been almost pathetic in begging both Richie and I to feature him on our Blogs. Well Brian... today is your day, pictures and all :-)

When I think back over the past 11 months of knowing Brian, and I think of some of the conversations that we have had, from the inappropriate to the absurd, I sometimes wonder how we have not received complaints!

While I don’t wish to get all touchy-feeling and soppy with this blog – I really do want to emphasise how grateful I am to Brian (as well as the rest of the M1NT team of course) for keeping me on track, always making me laugh – no matter how close to throwing up I am from working so hard, and always encouraging me to work harder. You have helped me make the progress I have made thus far – I truly appreciate it.

Now... before anyone gets the wrong idea... I’m engaged, about to be married... and besides... Brian is WAY TOO OLD for me!

So as a sign of all of our appreciation towards Brian and his sense of humour I suggest that every time any of us are in at M1NT this week we take time to find something about Brian to make fun of. I have included some pictures in case you need some assistance.

Here’s to Brian
