"THREE COOKIES!!!" I heard coming from both Brian and Mikes mouths this morning as I sneaked into the gym late for our Sweat Intensive class. I knew I was in trouble then! :-) So it would appear that Brian and Mike are both reading my blog :-) Lets just say that they were less than impressed with me!
But as I spent time explaining to them, I am reasonably OK with it.... I'm looking at improvements over time... 6 months ago a lunch from Subway would have been a foot long sub (with all the trimmings including sauces and cheese), either a milkshake or orange juice AND 3 cookies - so now my salad (no cheese or sauce), water and 3 cookies doesn't look that bad! Right? :-p
So as I mentioned was back into M1NT this morning for our Sweat Intensive class - Wednesday mornings are taken by Harry and the class is based around Boxing (we aren't allowed to actually hit each other). Before I started at M1NT I had never done any kind boxing - but it is something that I am falling more and more in love with - WOW - did that come from me?!? I'm falling in love with something that resembles exercise! Now that's an improvement!
I am even considering entering into a charity boxing match for amateurs next year - there was one recently and Harry worked with one of the fighters - a group of us from M1NT went along in support - was a great night. I think it would be a challenge that I would really enjoy.
I really enjoy sessions with Harry - although I must admit it took me a while to 'warm' to him. From a distance it is easy to think that Harry does nothing but yell loudly (usually with such a strong accent that no one really knows just what he is saying) and count wrong (when you are doing something like 10 press-ups you usually do number 7 at least twice!). But in reality Harry is nothing but a softie (he is not going to like me saying that) who really knows his stuff. Harry has a background of training professional boxers and you always have a really good workout if he is in charge.
And in case you are wondering - no subway cookies were consumed today. I made a trip to the shops last night and made a big salad - enough for me for the rest of the week at work for lunches - maybe that way I won't buy bad food as I won't be going to the shops!
