Alcohol then Sleep then BIA = Lecture

So what did I learn last Friday when I went for my weekly BIA with Di from M1NT?

Well... I learnt that if you drink alcohol (even just 3 drinks) the night before a BIA, you don't even have to show Di your food diary and she will know!

She was punching the numbers into her computer when a vaguely puzzled look came across her face ... "somethings not right here" she muttered... then the light bulb went on, she shot me a look "You've been drinking haven't you!". 15 minutes later I left feeling a little bit like a school girl that's just been told off by the headmaster! Sorry Di!

Last Friday was a crazy one at my work meaning that I didn't actually make it to my normal noon appointment (i.e. pre-lunch consumption) and instead headed down at 3pm after eating my lunch. So the figures were a little bit different and I am maintaining that as my excuse! Here's how I did;
Total Weight - increased 0.7kg
Total Fat Weight - increased 0.18kg
Total Muscle Weight - decreased 0.06kg
Total Water Weight - increased 0.58kg (I think that this was the figure that gave away the alcohol!)
Waist Measurement - down 1 cm (so back at 31cm total loss).

Overall, apart from the alcohol lecture, I left feeling OK about the results.

Since Friday I had a rather uneventful, but relatively healthy weekend. Was then back into M1NT at 6.30am Monday for the Sweat Intensive class with Brian (where I have to point out that the numbers were lacking!! Where was everyone huh?!?).

Then back to the gym this morning for a workout doing my programme that Brian has set me.

On Friday I chatted with Di for a while about my lunches. I am someone that I need to be pre-organised to eat healthy lunches during the week - by that I mean I am best if I can prepare a weeks worth of lunches on a Sunday and take one a day to work. For the past 6 months or so I have been preparing a large lettuce salad every Sunday and taking this to work every day and eating it for lunch with a protein source (either left over meat from dinner the night before, tin of salmon, tuna or chicken). The only thing is that now that the temperature as dropped so dramatically I found that the salads just weren't cutting it anymore!

Di had a few great ideas - there was one that really sounded like me - so Sunday was 'D' day and I tried it out (anyone that knows me knows that I am definitely NOT at home in the kitchen!).

I diced a whole heap of veges up into small cubes and baked slightly in the oven. All of these then went into a casserole dish and I poured over a mix of eggs, milk, water and seasoning. Then sprinkled sunflower, pumpkin and sesame seeds on top and baked in the over - Di's Crustless Quiche! I then cut it into lunch size slices (it made 6) and I have freezed some and the rest went in the fridge - they are absolutely divine heated in the microwave for lunch - again just needing a protein source as well. Thanks heaps Di - this is my winter menu sorted :-) (Creature of habit - that's me!)

By the way - keep posted - there is blog coming on Monday that you do NOT want to miss!!!
